Those who have played FF VII will definitely recognize this. Jenova is an extraterrestrial lifeform, composed of cells that carry its will and power even when separated. Jenova originally traveled crashed onto the Planet and began infecting the residing Ancients until they almost die out; it is later excavated by Shinra and mistakenly thought to be an Ancient.
