The Daruma doll, also known as a Dharma doll, is a hollow, round, Japanese doll modeled after the founder of the Zen sect of Buddhism Bodhidharma. The eyes of Daruma are often blank and the owner of the doll fills in one eye upon making a wish or setting a goal, then the other upon fulfilling it.
