The Atago class of guided missile destroyers is an improved version of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF)'s Kongō class destroyers. It is able to carry the Mitsubishi SH-60J, an anti-submarine patrol helicopter. The SH-60J is a modified version of the United States Navy's SH-60B/F Seahawk.
